35 Weeks

So here's the newest belly picture: This is me at 35 weeks and 4 days. That's my cool camera. It's really spiffy.

Ready

Well today, after a weekend of putting together cribs and dressers and packing the bags, and today going to the hospital to "preregister," I believe that we might be as Michael would put it "Mentally Prepared To Have This Baby." It certainly made me feel an awful lot better to see the nursery with actual furniture in it and to have the paperwork turned in.

So now. . . despite that list of other to-do's, I think we've got the mandatory things done. Baby may come now. It has our permission. ;)

The Words That Freak Me Out. . .

Okay, Mike is on the phone with Rob and yet again, for the second day in a row, after he says "yeah, she's 35 weeks," he gets the standard excited response "WOW, It could happen any time." ANYTIME?

No hospital paperwork turned in, no crib put together, haven't checked the car seat out with the local firemen who will make sure it's alright. Um. . . I'm forgetting how to breathe just thinking about it. Seriously. Of course, then you get the standard come-back from someone else in the crowd. "Or, it's her first, it'd could last another six weeks. . . " SIX WEEKS? Oh my gosh, how big will this baby's head be then? Obviously the answer to that is NOT something I want to hear out loud. Please, please, don't say it!!

Mike and I Together!

Here's Michael and I in Balboa! Seriously, all you non-California people should plan trips out here. It's nice. Very nice.

The Belly Continued. . .

This picture is in Sea Ranch right after Christmas. I was still mobile enough to climb those rocks - okay, not gracefully, not quickly, but I did it nonetheless!

A Short History of the Belly. . .

Okay, okay, I've had people screaming for pictures of the ever-expanding Knotts Baby Belly. So here you are. Of course you probably didn't want the picture sideways, but you'll just have to deal with it because my blogging skills are, well, minimal at best. The picture was taken December 2nd, almost two months ago at Balboa Island Pier. Ah, the rough life of the Californian.

Introduction

Michael and I are expecting our first baby, as most of you know, and as we had the gall and audacity to move away from his family (and I suppose mine as well) right as this is about to happen, I thought I'd make an offering of peace by creating a blog where the interesting details might be shared with everyone! I'll be an equal opportunity poster - all relatives, friends, family, and those we claim as family but who are really distant cousins (once removed) are welcome to read and enjoy.
