Camping at Camp Pendleton

Amazing. I decided to surprise Mike and plan to take the family camping. We were going to go to San Elijo. . . even got a campsite at the last minute. But then a friend invited us to join them at Camp Pendleton. And this is where we were for the kids' first camping trip. Steaks, s'mores, doritos. It was marvelous. The kids did great sleeping in the tent. Will kept waking up and looking confused, then looking at me and I'd say "It's okay Will, remember - we're camping in a tent?" And he'd lie down and go back to sleep.

Absolutely amazing. Three miles of untouched beach. . . and maybe four other campsites.
Yeah, we are spoiled living here.

On Owl City - Fireflies

Will "I'd like to get a piano like that because then I could play all sorts of songs and my songs would be loud, loud, loud."

(Piano sounds like "pano")

I love this boy. He's cuddling on my lap and watching the video for the fifth time in a row.

"when he turns off the lights, his toys are all sleeping. . ."

awww. . .

Mike, we're staying up for you! :)

But then. . . "I'm too tired NOT to fall asleep."

And so to bed.

First Day of School - Preschool

Hello All! It's been ages since I last wrote - but I thought I'd give you the big news: Will has started preschool. He loves it: some quotes from the last couple of days; "My teacher is funny! My class is great!" "Someone lined all the diggers up along the concrete, and I got the dump truck, and the big blue shovel, and I dug a big hole, and I put the sand in the truck." "I just do my pants all by myself." "Look how I can count on my hands, and I can put my hands together like this: one, two, three, four, five, six, two, three, four, five!!!" :) "They sing funny songs there." (While looking quite skeptical.) And he drew me for the first time ever tonight, and to himself talked about how I needed arms and hands. . . and a head. It was awesome.

Cuddles are forever.

William woke up from nap in a lovey mood. He climbed into his Sissy's crib (after asking permission), to kiss her. He kissed and cuddled her (she had just woken up, and was so happy about that). She responded by saying "luuuvv ooooo." Then he read her "The Mighty Street Sweeper," and they kept cuddling and she kept professing her love, and he was being so gentle and sweet. It was awesome.

Then we all sat on the couch, where I said I needed cuddles. Will gave me an awesome cuddle, and then said "Cuddles don't wipe off. They stay on. They are forever." I asked "But, do kisses stay on?" He said "yup." I gave him a kiss, and he said "That's going to stay on forever."

Good things. :)

Will and Mommy

With Jeremiah

After countless pancakes, the kids decided that Jeremiah is the coolest. We agree.

Yes, he's a genius!

Excellent work. Completely unassisted. Serious engineering potential. I love my boy! And no, there is NOTHING propping up that first cool building. . . which, by the way, he "built just for you, Mommy." Ahh. Also, I think the very best feeling as a mom is watching that grin of pride come over my baby boy's face. It's like I'VE conquered Everest to see how proud he is. Mothering is the best.

Also he writes.

I have no idea how this happened. Will asks for a pencil and piece of paper. I give it to him. He's drawing (I think), then all of a sudden says "Mommy, I wrote my name for you." I go over and look, and there is his name (bottom sample)! He 3 years, 4 months currently, and has not really been practicing letters or anything. . . just out of the blue his name!

Easter Egg Dying

We dyed eggs last night in preparation to hide them today, Easter morning. Will had a great time, as did Sissy. She got so excited about the whole project, and it was such fun to do something like this as a family!

Easter Morning Egg Hunt in PJs.

So this morning we had a little Easter egg hunt for the kids - Siss outside in the lawn, and Will hidden (more difficultly) all over the backyard. Will was not having the photo thing, and when Mike told him (in exasperation) "Will, look UP," Will promptly obeyed by looking DIRECTLY up at the sky. He's definitely got the letter of the law thing down pat.

Easter Sunday!

Happy Easter everyone! These, G.G. are the outfits we bought! The kids had a little Easter egg hunt this morning, in pajamas, and then we got all dressed up for church. Will was not pleased at the family photograph idea, hence the grim look. Sissy however will pose at the drop of a hat for me. I told her to look cute, and this is the result. She's very obedient.

Mops Easter Egg Hunt

Mops (mothers of preschoolers) Easter Egg Hunt today at Gallup Park in Laguna Hills. Beautiful day, great park, nice moms, and a ton of good photos!

Yogurt Morning

Yeah, there is more yogurt on her than anywhere else. She kept saying "wet! wet!" about her belly (which was covered in yogurt). Then she switched to "one, two, three, four. . . YUMMMMM!" She likes her food.

Random Photos from March

I think these are mainly March. . . :)
