Wet, wet, wetter!

So, there's been a challenge set forth in our house, and I don't think either Mike or I realized it. I told Will a while ago that "big boys" put their faces in the water. Mike's been telling him that big boys don't mind showers of water on their heads, and I've been explaining how that's how Daddy gets clean. Will's been grouchy about accepting too much of the shower philosophy, however he's been regularly dipping his face into the bath water, the play table water, pretty much any standing water he can find (thank God he knows not to touch the toilet, eh?).

Well, today I'm watering the garden, which Will thinks is awesome, because he sticks his arm in the water stream and basically gets all wet and has a great time "helping" me by moving the hose to all the parts of the garden that need extra attention. So today, all of a sudden, he sticks his full head; I'm not talking a little bit of face, or the side of his head, we're talking the whole cranium full into the blasting stream of water from the hose. I burst out laughing, because who expected that, and he comes out drenched, shakes his head clearing his breathing passages and says "DADA!" And grins at me. I had to admit that yes, he was just like a brave Dada to do such a thing. . .and he promptly grinned and continued sticking his head in the water. Challenge successfully accepted. Will wins.

These pictures are the aftermath of said challenge. Note that the only dry part of the boy was a small triangle on his backside. Plus, these pictures don't really show this, but the force from the hose was so powerful, that his hair was not only soaked, but also ripply and parted from the water. It was pretty cool.
