San Diego Zoo. . .

Here we are again - at the zoo. The bad news is Mike got to pet a camel (oh, and so did Will, although Mike seems to be the most excited about this) but the camera battery had died by then. :(

Craziness at 6 months!

Sissy is now officially six months old. Since when she was wee we did these shots on the bed with Will, I thought I'd repeat with them wearing matching outfits. Note the preparation these outfits must have taken. A lot, I tell you. I am nothing if not a prepared mother! ;) Also, please note that Sissy's thighs really are the size of two year old Williams. Also, it is possible to spot her fat rolls on her upper arms in some of these pictures. I have a friend that still insists on calling her "Little Bit," seems like the definition of an oxymoron to me!

Serious Ball Skills

William has been perfecting kicking, throwing, bouncing, running and hiking whatever balls he can find. Here are some action shots from the last outside practice time.

April 19th - Fish Day

The day started with some quality Sibling Time. . . then a trip to WalMart for an eight dollar fish bowl (with gravel and fake plant), and two twenty-eight cent goldfish. Let it never be said that we don't spoil the boy. Boy howdy, do we. Almost nine dollars in one day for no other reason than he wanted some fishies.

Kids with their Dada!

Either one kid or the other looked good. . . oh well.

G and T's

I must admit that the risk of offense with this post is at least two-fold. If you are a teetotaller - DO NOT read on. If you are someone who would be offended that some of my friends might be teetotallers, DO NOT read the previous two sentences. Thank you.

William has taken to imaginative play with much vigor these days. Frosty the Snowman has been learning to dance and clap (and clap while dancing - he's very advanced), Will has been playing doctor to both his many cats, and to Sissy and Daddy, and Will's dogs regularly get told to "sit!" and "stay!" With all this play, and a child who spends every day watching what I do, something embarrassing was bound to happen. Something which when posted would make other people, if not me, laugh out loud.

It happened the other day. I'm sitting outside watching Will play with his pebble-tray. He has these two plastic play plant pots (say that ten times fast) that he likes to fill up with pebbles and bring to me. He has in the past brought me the pot and explained to me that it is "Hot tea." I pretend to sip, pronounce it marvelous tea indeed, thank him for making it for me, all requisite motherly behaviors. Well, he's at it again, filling both the plant pots with pebbles, making certain they are evenly distributed, such things. Then he brings it over to me. I sigh happily, and say "Is it tea?" thinking innocently how nice it is for him to do this for me all the time. "NO!" Will says vehemently. Surprised, I ask "What is it then?", still innocent and unsullied by the game he's playing. "GIN!" he announces, then proceeds to "CHEERS!" and clinks our two play plant pots together.

And thus begins the part of parenthood where my habits, both good and (alas!) bad are broadcast verbally for all the world to see. Might as well post them on-line in a kind of expiation for my sins. . . right?

Lorakeet Landing!

San Diego Wild Animal Park!

We went to the Wild Animal Park today. It was a beautiful day, and Will and Sissy thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Will saw giraffes, lions, many birds, and played in the Lorakeet Landing exhibit (pictures in next post).

Sissy's First Cereal!

Sissy had her first cereal today. She was awfully cute, grabbing my hands and shoving the spoon in. She practically turned to me and said "Hurry it up lady, that's some yummy food!" Of course she is our eater. I was looking at photos of Will at this age, and I'm thinking she's got him beat for chubs.

What am I doing here?? Seriously.

More of the Desert. . .

Desert Botanical Garden and Mr. Chihully

People at the Desert Botanical Gardens

On Saturday we went to the Desert Botanical Gardens with Gary, Cheryl and my parents, Grandma and Grandpa Murphy. We saw a Chihully (sp?) glass exhibit which was awesome - those pictures will be next (some of them!). It rained for a little bit, then cleared up. Sissy was all bundled up and slept through most of the day. Here she is all cuddly before sleep overtook her.

At the Chandler Airport!

On Friday Gary suggested we have breakfast at the Hanger Cafe, at the Chandler Airport. Oh my. Never knew that airplanes were quite that fun. It was awesome, we even got to run around and look at bi-wing airplanes and all sorts of cool planes. William thought that it was so cool, that even looking at photos now, he's ready to jump back in the car and drive to Phoenix to see it again. That's a seven hour drive (with stops) for those of you keeping track. :)

The Most Beautiful Baby

Grandma Knotts sends clothes. . .

How cute is this little outfit? Thanks Grandma Knotts!
