Newspaper Plastic Bag Reuse

So I'm completely into reusing things we get. Mike tonight made newspaper plastic bags into balloons. I'm sure other people have done this - but it's the best. You can play volleyball, indoors, and swords, which is very exciting when mom loses twice in a row. You know you lose when you strike a blow at the other sword and your balloon pops. :( Thankfully Mike's full time job is now balloon creating. Also good is that there is a limited number of newspaper plastic bags to use, which means that the game is over when mom loses too many times. :)

Funny Talk

So. . . Will and Bets are playing horses with two bench cushions, and Will is trying to convince Bets to get back on her horse. He yells - "OH NO!" "BETSY, YOUR HORSE IS ABOUT TO LEAVE!"

Pause.

No answer.

He continues - "He's going! I CAN HEAR HIS GIDDYYUPPPP!!!"

:)

I love kids.

My little Talker

Bets is currently watching "Dirty Jobs" - it's basically a guy . . . wait, if you haven't seen it, ask someone! . . . anyway, she's saying
"you 'fraid to get dirty?" LONG PAUSE "noooooo"
"mommy 'fraid to get dirty?" ANOTHER LONG PAUSE "noooooo"
"Willam 'fraid to get dirty?" YET ANOTHER LONG PAUSE "nooooo"

:)

Love that girl.

4 Year Old Boys are the Greatest

Will is currently standing on the pebble tray cover up about two feet, and yelling "CHARGE!!!!!" and "Don't come up here or I will kill you!!!" "You don't have a sword. . . you will be dead!" "Watch out!" Hmm. Hopefully that's normal and not early signs of psychosis. ;)

Also - Betsy just put her headband on her belly and Will said "When she does that, I like to call her FlowerBelly." :)

Paint

Mike: "That's a good painting Will - is that lightning?"

Will: "No."

Mike: "What is it?"

Will: "Paint."

Mike: "Good answer."

I want to go back.

Mexico. Ahhhhh. . .

Jesus' Death

last night Will wanted to read about Jesus' death and resurrection. So we did. At the end, his comment was "they didn't do a very good job killing him."
Because he came alive again.
Oh my.
Complicated explanation ensued.
He assured me that he would have done a better job.
Eek.
I explained that he couldn't actually kill God, which was the problem with the Jews.
He's still thinking on that one. . .

Then tonight I had to explain why our gingerbread house is in the fridge in the garage. The reason is that during Christmas I had a feeling we'd have an ant invasion if I left it in the house, so I put it in the fridge in the garage. Will said "but, you could have left it on the table, and the ants couldn't get it there, it's too tall."
I said "well, but they could climb up the legs and get to the table that way."
Will countered "well, we could make a table with no legs." And then he had the funniest look on his face, as he's picturing all the problems with that scenario.
Then he decides how to fix it:
"Bendy nails. We could use bendy nails and hang it from the ceiling, and we'd need a hammer and a ladder. . . and that's probably a Daddy job."
Good thing Daddy's in charge of that one.

Up your nose.

Will climbed into Betsy's crib this afternoon after her nap. He was being so sweet, and kissed her on her nose. She wiped it off. He said "oh, no, Sissy, that's not coming off, it went up your nose."

Yup. Up your nose.
