You know what I was thinking just now? I was thinking that I have mastered the art of holding Will with one arm while doing things with the other. Things I can do one-handed:
- laundry: including loading, starting, and transferring loads
- vacuuming: we're actually working on making Will less scared of the vacuum, but for a while the only way it would work is if I held him to show it was okay. . .
- cooking dinner: yes, including stirring hot things (I'm sure I get a demerit for that, but Will loves to watch the pots)
- blogging and emailing: self-explanatory - one-handed typing.
- unloading groceries from the car or the bags.
:)
I've got skills.

Fell in the dirt. . .
So we were doing our outside chores today (you know, scootering, watering, bucketing things, scootering some more), and the ground was all wet. Will was chasing me around, getting all wet by sticking his hand in the water, and having the greatest time when PLOP he fell face first into the wetest wet dirt ever. I pull him up, and he's got a face FULL of mud - eyes all muddy, nose, mouth, teeth have mud in them.
What do I do? Well, I have to get him cleaned up, and here's a hose, so I hose him down. He didn't like that much and the ensuing chase around the yard as I tried to take photos of our escapades was as much fun as the original fall. He was completely sopping, and convinced I might turn the hose on him again - ah the joys of childhood. I made up for it by pulling out the bubbles and distracting him with them for a good long while. :)
Here's some photos of the William after he was hosed down:
